JOHN THEDE (2) is the son of Heinrich Thede and Caroline (Schultz) Thede.  John was born on February 7, 1835 in Mecklinburg Schwerin, Germany.  John immigrated to Bruce County, Ontario, Canada.  On October 9, 1865, John Thede married Sophia Marie Dorothea Hanna Holtz.  Dorothea was born on February 19, 1846 in Mecklinburg, Germany.  At the age of eight, Dorothea immigrated to Bruce County, Ontario, Canada.  For additional information on Dorothy Holtz, see the sketch of “Father of Dorothy Holtz (21).”  Soon after John and Dorothea’s marriage, they moved to Caledonia, Michigan.  They then purchased a 160 acre tract of land and cleared it.  In 1880, they built a large barn and in 1885, they built a large brick house.  John and Dorothea Thede were the parents of eight children:

In 1870, John and “Theresa” Thede were living in Caladonia, Kent County, Michigan.  From 1880 to 1900, John and Dorothy Thede were living in Leighton Township, Allegan County, Michigan.  After they retired, they lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  John Thede, Sr. died on May 7, 1919 and Dorothea (Holtz) Thede died on March 2, 1923.

JOHN W. THEDE (2.2) is the son of John Thede and Dorothea (Holtz) Thede.  John was born on October 27, 1869 in Michigan.  On January 1, 1895, John Thede married Emma L. Gentz.  Emma was born in January of 1875 in Michigan.  John and Emma Thede were the parents of four children:

   Elsie Mathilda Thede (2.2.2), b. December 19, 1897, Michigan
   Lila M. Thede, b. July 31, 1900, Allegan County, Michigan

From 1900 to 1910, John and Emma Thede were living in Leighton Township, Allegan County, Michigan.  John and Emma Thede farmed in Leighton Township until March 15, 1928 when they moved into Grand Rapids, Michigan.  John W. Thede died on December 26, 1944.  Emma (Gentz) Thede died in 1960.  Lila Thede died at the age of eighteen on March 27, 1919.

ARTHUR C. THEDE (2.2.1) is the son of John W. Thede and Emma L. (Gentz) Thede.  Arthur was born on November 16, 1895 in Michigan.  Arthur graduated from Middleville High School and attended the Moody Bible Institute.  On June 14, 1919, Arthur Thede married Luellen J. Klump.  Arthur and Luellen farmed in Leighton Township until 1951 when they moved into Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Arthur and Luellen are the parents of two children:

   Arden Gilbert Thede, b. April 17, 1929

On December 29, 1950, Arden Thede married Ruth Jean Peterson.  As of 1955, Arden and Ruth Thede live on the farm where Arden was born near Wayland, Michigan.  Arden and Ruth Thede were the parents of two children:  -  Deborah Sue Thede, b. December 11, 1952,  -  Gary Lee Thede, b. July 31, 1954.  Ruth (Peterson) Thede died and Arden married a second time to Marian Klunder (born February 14, 1927).  Arden and Marian Thede have one daughter:  -  Julie Thede.  Marian (Klunder) Thede died on June 21, 1986.  Deborah Sue Thede married a minister and has two children.  She lives in western state.  Gary Thede is welder by trade and resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Julie Thede works at J. C. Penney’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

WARREN HUBERT THEDE (2.2.1.1) is the son of Arthur C. Thede and Luellen J. (Klump) Thede.  Warren was born on December 6, 1922.  On October 28, 1941, Warren Thede married Ann Marie Deyarmond.  Ann Marie was born on May 12, 1921 in Alma, Michigan and completed two years of study in college.  Warren and Ann Marie Thede have three children:

   Dorothy Ann Thede, b. December 25, 1942
   Kenneth Warren Thede, b. March 25, 1945
   Denis Alvin Thede, b. June 7, 1952

Warren Thede spent twenty-six months in the armed services.  Warren Thede is employed at General Motors Fisher Body Division in the Tool and Die department.  Warren was a tool and die maker for General Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan until he retired in 1977.  As of 1986, Warren and Ann Marie Thede live in Wyoming, Michigan.

On January 27, 1962, Dorothy Thede married Vincent Lyle Mann (born October 17, 1941).  Vincent and Dorothy Mann were the parents of two children:  -  Sherry Lynn Mann,  -  Brenda Sue Mann, b. May 13, 1965.  On January 22, 1971, Dorothy married a second time to Robert Craig Glupker (born December 3, 1948).  Robert and Dorothy Glupker have one son:  -  Robert Craig Glupker, Jr., b. July 24, 1971.  As of 1978, Robert and Dorothy Glupker were live in Wyoming, Michigan.  On June 25, 1983, Sherry Mann married Kirk Allen Larsen (born October 10th) and they have one daughter:  -  Amanda Michelle Larsen, b. July 24, 1985.  As of 1986, Kirk and Sherry Larsen reside in Hudsonville, Michigan.  Brenda Mann does secretarial work for a bank.  As of 1986, Brenda resides in Wyoming, Michigan.

On August 5, 1965, Kenneth Thede married Cheryl Sue Kaechele (33.3.1.5.3).  Kenneth and Cheryl Thede have three children:  -  Cory Allen Thede, b. October 12, 1967,  -  Timothy John Thede, b. December 16, 1969,  -  Lori Ann Thede, b. July 16, 1975.  Kenneth is die maker at General Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  As of 1986, Kenneth and Cheryl Thede were living in Wayland, Michigan.  Cory is a freshman at Grand Rapids Baptist College.

On November 11, 1971, Denis Thede married Linda Rae Baar (born February 2, 1952).  Denis and Linda Rae Thede have two children:  -  Rachel Marie Thede, b. April 24, 1974,  -  Emily Suzanne Thede, b. December 3, 1977.  Denis is a tool and die maker at General Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Denis is also a pilot and owns a sky-diving school at Grant, Michigan.  As of 1986, Denis and Linda Rae Thede reside in Wyoming, Michigan.

ELSIE MATHILDA THEDE (2.2.2) is the daughter of John W. Thede and Emma L. (Gentz) Thede.  Elsie was born on December 19, 1897 in Michigan.  Elsie was a school teacher.  On April 6, 1921, Elsie Thede married Walter Runkel.  They farmed in Hopkins Township until 1943 when Walter became Deputy Sheriff of Allegan County, Michigan.  In 1954, Walter became Sheriff and resided at the Sheriff Headquarters in Allegan, Michigan.  Walter and Elsie Runkel are the parents of three children:

   Robert J. Runkel, b. April 8, 1926
   Arlene Marie Runkel, b. October 10, 1931

Walter Runkel died on April 14, 1962.  Margaret Runkel was employed at the Allegan County Clerk’s office.  Margaret Runkel married John DeVries who is employed at the Jarecki Manufacturing Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan.  John and Margaret DeVries are the parents of two children:  -  Ronald J. DeVries, b. June 8, 1943,  -  Dennis Lee DeVries, b. December 20, 1951.  As of 1955, John and Margaret DeVries were living in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Ronald DeVries married Janice Prenner and they have two children:  -  Bradley DeVries, b. March 20, 1968,  -  Jillayne DeVries, b. February 24, 1971.

On December 5, 1947, Robert Runkel married Marilyn Sebright.  They farm in Monterey Township, Allegan County, Michigan.  Robert and Marilyn Runkel are the parents of three children:  -  Ann Leslie Runkel, b. August 20, 1949,  -  Steven R. Runkel, b. April 16, 1951,  -  Brian Runkel, b. October 1, 1956.  Ann Runkel works at Rockwell International in Troy, Michigan.  Steven Runkel married Linda Rudolph and they have two children:  -  Jason Runkel, b. August 16, 1974,  -  Jennifer Runkel, b. July 16, 1979.  As of 1978, Brian Runkel was working on the family farm.

Arlene Runkel graduated from Hopkins High School and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Butterworth Hospital.  Arlene is a nurse at Allegan Health Center in Allegan, Michigan.  On June 18, 1955, Arlene Runkel married Sherwin Shoeyink and they have four children:  -  Randall Shoeyink, b. EDWARD J. THEDE (2.2.4) is the son of John W. Thede and Emma L. (Gentz) Thede.  Edward was born on March 13, 1906 in Allegan County, Michigan.  Edward graduated from South High School.  Edward owned and operated the Thede Auto Supply, a wholesale auto supply for both sales and service.  On October 10, 1936, Edward Thede married Eileen Slotman.  As of 1955, Edward and Eileen Thede reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Edward and Eileen Thede are the parents of two children:

   Edward Dexter Thede, b. August 19, 1937
   Valerie Thede, b. February 26, 1941

Eileen (Slotman) Thede died on May 1, 1961.  On March 30, 1962, Edward J. Thede married a second time to Clara Clatworthy.  Edward Thede, Jr. graduated from East Grand Rapids High School in 1955.  Edward is an expert sailor and has received several trophies for sailing.  He is also an accomplished pianist, trombonist and is active in the choir.  Edward Thede married Linda Quigle and they have two children:  -  Laura Thede, b. February 14, 1965,  -  Douglas King Thede, b. January 13, 1967.  As of 1978, Edward and Linda Thede were living in Saginaw, Michigan.

Valerie Thede plays the violin and sings in the choir.  On June 17, 1962, Valerie Thede married Robert Gwyn and they have three children:  -  Katherine Gwyn, b. December 20, 1966,  -  David Gwyn, b. March 5, 1968,  -  Michelle Gwyn, b. March 12, 1970.

EMMA THEDE (2.3) is the daughter of John Thede and Dorthea (Holtz) Thede.  Emma was born on October 23, 1871 in Allegan County, Michigan.  On January 19, 1890, Emma Thede married Andrew Kaechele.  Andrew was born in Germany.  He was a minister and district superintendent of the Evangelical Church.  Andrew graduated from Western Reserve University and graduated from the Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1907.  Andrew and Emma Kaechele were the parents of two children:

   Ruth Edna Kaechele (2.3.2), b. November 22, 1897

Andrew Kaechele died in April of 1911.  In July of 1912, Emma married a second time to Bishop G. Heinmiller, a graduate of the Evangelical Theological Seminary of Naperville, Illinois.  As of 1955, Emma lived in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.  Arthur Kaechele died in his youth.

RUTH EDNA KAECHELE (2.3.2) is the daughter of Andrew Kaechele and Emma (Thede) Kaechele.  Ruth was born on November 22, 1897.  Ruth graduated from North Central College.  On April 6, 1922, Ruth Kaechele married Arthur Carl Bolz.  Arthur is a graduate of Cleveland Law School.  He is an active salesman and both are much involved in church and civic interests.  Arthur and Ruth Bolz are the parents of two children:

   Mary Dorothea Bolz, b. January 22, 1929

As of 1955, Arthur and Ruth Bolz were living in Shaker Heights, Ohio.  John “Jack” Bolz lives in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.  Mary Bolz is a graduate of Duke University and specializes in kindergarten teaching.  Mary Bolz married Henry Mason Ernest who is a M. P. S. graduate of Penn State College.

SAMUEL L. THEDE (2.4) is the son of John Thede and Dorthea (Holtz) Thede.  Samuel was born on November 5, 1873 in Allegan County, Michigan.  Samuel is a graduate of Middleville High School and Syracuse Business College.  He taught accounting and then became an insurance broker until he died on December 31, 1950.  On January 22, 1922, Samuel Thede married Edna Marie Beuchler.  Edna is a graduate of the University of Chicago with Phi Beta Kappa honors.  She was a high school teacher in Chicago and then a partner in Business College.  She now is an insurance broker.  Samuel and Edna Thede are the parents of one daughter:

   Marie Adele Thede, b. July 13, 1923

Marie Thede received a Bachelor of Science degree from Wooster College and a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin with Phi Beta Kappa.  She served in the Biology Department as a research assistant and teacher at the University of Wisconsin.  On January 12, 1946, Marie Thede married Glenn W. Peterjohn.  Glenn is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Wallace College.  Glenn and Marie Peterjohn are the parents of one daughter:  -  Kathy Louise Peterjohn, b. June 10, 1951.

WILLIAM W. THEDE (2.5) is the son of John Thede and Dorthea (Holtz) Thede.  William was born on October 12, 1876 in Allegan County, Michigan.  William took a business course at North Central College.  On October 25, 1905, William Thede married Ruth R. Vreeland.  They farmed on the Thede homestead.  William and Ruth Thede were the parents of three children:

   Esther E. Thede, b. January 11, 1911

William Thede died on January 9, 1914.  Ruth married a second time to Glenn Juppstrom.  Glenn and Ruth Juppstrom have since died.  Marian Thede graduated from Battle Creek High School and was employed at the Battle Creek Sanatorium.  Marian was a nurse at American Steel and Wire Corporation.  On August 10, 1932, Marian Thede married Jack Donovan.  Jack and Marian Donovan are the parents of one son:  -  William Donovan, b. January 18, 1935.  William Donovan graduated from Battle Creek High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1953.  On December 10, 1942, Marian married a second time to Duane Douglas who died on September 1, 1951.

Dorothy Thede was employed at the Battle Creek Sanatorium until she married.  On October 1, 1929, Dorothy Thede married Howard Gless who operates a Standard Filling Station at Plainwell, Michigan where they reside.  Howard and Dorothy Gless are the parents of two children:  -  Anthony William Gless, b. August 24, 1938,  -  David Joe Gless, b. January 12, 1944.  Anthony has an enviable record as a basketball player.  Esther Thede graduated from Wayland High School and from the Battle Creek Sanatorium as a Registered Nurse.  On October 20, 1940, Esther Thede married Dorr Feldman.  Dorr and Esther Feldman are the parents of one son:  -  Thomas Feldman, b. October 2, 1944.  Dorr and Esther Feldman live in Florida.

ROSE THEDE (2.6) is the daughter of John Thede and Dorthea (Holtz) Thede.  Rose was born on July 6, 1877 in Allegan County, Michigan.  Rose graduated from Middleville High School.  On May 10, 1906, Rose Thede married Charles Fasholdt.  Charles was employed by the Herpolsheimer Company until he operated the overall and garment factory.  As of 1955, Charles and Rose Fasholdt lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

ANNA THEDE (2.7) is the daughter of John Thede and Dorthea (Holtz) Thede.  Anna was born on May 26, 1879 in Allegan County, Michigan.  Rose attended Huver District and Central High School.  On October 22, 1902, Anna Thede married Emory C. Jones.  Emory and Anna Jones are the parents of two children:

   Lenora Jones, b. March 18, 1908
   Charles E. Jones, b. September 12, 1917

Emory and Anna Jones resided on the farm adjacent to the Thede homestaed all of their married lives.  In 1952, They celebrated their fiftieth wedding.  Emory and Anna Jones have since died.  Lenora Jones attended Weber, Caledonia and Middleville High Schools and Business College in Grand Rapids.  On October 21, 1939, Lenora Jones married Clarence Steeby.  Clarence Steeby died on March 11, 1953.  After Clarence’s death, Lenora lived with her parents in Caledonia, Michigan.  Lenora is employed as a saleslady at Blowers Children Wear Store in Burton Heights, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Charles Jones attended Weber Grade School and Middleville High School.  In Grand Rapids, he attended Davenport-McLaughlin Institute and Grand Rapids College.  Charles Jones married Dorothy Sack.  Charles and Dorothy Jones are the parents of three children:  -  Gordon Charles Jones, b. December 13, 1945,  -  Jeffrey Alan Jones, b. January 17, 1949,  -  Paul Frederic Jones, b. June 30, 1951.  Charles Jones has been employed by the William Iselin and Company, Incorporated in the Credit Department since 1938.  As of 1955, Charles and Dorothy Jones live in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

MARIE THEDE (2.8) is the daughter of John Thede and Dorthea (Holtz) Thede.  Marie was born on February 15, 1882 in Allegan County, Michigan.  Marie was an expert typist, holding a speed record for some time.  On September 5, 1917, Marie Thede married Jacob E. Neahr.  Jacob was a Sales Supervisor for the Underwood Typewriter Company.  Jacob and Marie Neahr were the parents of one son:

   John Neahr, b. August 13, 1912

On August 14, 1940, John “Jack” Neahr married Kathryn Carn.  Jack owns and operates the Underwood Typewriter and Sun Strand Adding Machine Service of Miami, Florida.  Jack and Kathryn Neahr are the parents of two children:  -  Patricia Ann Neahr, b. March 4, 1943,  -  John “Chip” Eugene Neahr, b. May 28, 1946.  As of 1955, Jacob and Marie Neahr live in Coral Gables, Florida.

EMANUEL A. THEDE (3) is the son of John Thede and Dorothea (Holtz) Thede.  Emanuel was born March 15, 1868 in Michigan.  On September 28, 1892, Emanuel Thede married Mary C. Aubil (14).  Mary was born on July 5, 1869 in Michigan and is the daughter of John Aubil and Rosa (Steeby) Aubil.  Emanuel and Mary Thede farmed in the Leighton Township in Allegan County, Michigan.  Emanuel and Mary Thede were the parents of five children:

GLENN EMANUEL THEDE (3.2) is the son of Emanuel A. Thede and Mary C. (Aubil) Thede.  Glenn was born on September 20, 1895 in Michigan.  Glenn attended McLaughlin Business College of Grand Rapids, Michigan and served in World War I.  On June 1, 1925, Glenn Thede married Nettie Snyder.  Glenn and Nettie Thede operate the farm previously owned by his father, Emanuel Thede.  Glenn and Nettie Thede were the parents of two children:

   Laura Jane Thede (3.2.2), b. November 26, 1929, Michigan

CLARENCE JOHN THEDE (3.2.1) is the son of Glenn Emanuel Thede and Nettie (Snyder) Thede.  Clarence was born on July 25, 1926 in Michigan.  Clarence Thede graduated from Middleville High School in Middleville, Michigan.  On August 26, 1949, Clarence Thede married Portia Ruth Treend.  Clarence and Portia Thede had six children:

   Alan Thede, b. September 10, 1955
   Earl Edison Thede, b. March 3, 1959
   Laurie Sue Thede, b. October 11, 1960
   Glenn Edward Thede, b. September 30, 1963
   Lyle Elbert Thede, b. August 16, 1965

In 1949, Clarence Thede received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.  Clarence taught school for many years at the Howell Schools in Howell, Michigan and was then employed by the Dow Chemical Company in the research department.  Clarence later received a Master of Business Science degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.  Clarence returned to Howell, Michigan where he taught until his retirement in 1984.  Portia received a degree in music and plays cello in the city symphony.  Portia is also a private music teacher.  Clarence and Portia reside in Midland, Michigan.  Earl, Glen and Mary Thede are adopted children of Clarence and Portia Thede.  Alan Thede died the day that he was born on September 10, 1955.  Earl Thede graduated from Howell High School.  Laurie Thede died as an child on September 13, 1963 at the Lapeer State Hospital.

Glenn Thede married Valerie Deaton and they have four children:  -  Teai Noel (Deaton) Thede, b. December 21, 1981,  -  Amber Ruth Thede, b. January 9, 1984,  -  Glenn Edward Thede, b. October 4, 1986,  -  Jonatthan Elliot Thede, b. April 16, 1988.  As of 1986, Glenn Thede is a printer for the Howell Newspaper Printing Company and is also a member of the National Guard.  Lyle Thede is now a resident of Hillcrest State Hospital.  Mary Alison Thede was born in Seoul, Korea and joined the Thede family in October of 1968.

LAURA JANE THEDE (3.2.2) is the daughter of Glenn Emanuel Thede and Nettie (Snyder) Thede.  Laura was born on November 26, 1929 in Michigan.  In 1948, Laura Thede graduated from Middleville High School in Middleville, Michigan.  In 1951, Laura graduated as a Registered Nurse from Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  On November 3, 1951, Laura Thede married Vern Hyde, Jr. (born July 7, 1926).  Vern graduated from Kellogsville High School in Kellogsville, Michigan.  Vern served in the United States Navy.  Vern and Laura Hyde are the parents of four children:

   Linda Sue Hyde, b. January 12, 1957
   Salli Ann Hyde, b. March 19, 1959
   Thomas Vern Hyde, b. September 14, 1961

Laura (Thede) Hyde was a nurse in the Saint Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan for several years.  From 1972 to 1981, Laura worked at the Springbrook Manor Nursing Home.  Vern Hyde is a foreman in Customer Service at Steelcase in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  As of 1978, Vern and Laura Hyde were living in Kentwood, Michigan.  Steven Hyde graduated from Kentwood High School in Kentwood, Michigan and is a graduate of ITT.  Steven is employed in the Shipping Division of Steelcase in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  On October 31, 1975, Steven Hyde married Bethann Puls (born March 4, 1956).  Bethann graduated from Rogers High School in Wyoming, Michigan and is a licensed cosmotologist.  Steven and Bethann Hyde have three children:  -  Stephen Glenn Hyde, Jr., b. January 28, 1977,  -  Robert Vern Hyde, b. March 3, 1980,  -  Kristine Arthea Ann Hyde, b. October 13, 1981.

Linda Hyde graduated from Kentwood High School in Kentwood, Michigan and is a graduate of Davenport Business College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Linda is now employed at Steelcase.  On August 20, 1977, Linda Hyde married Dennis R. Pitchellis (born February 11, 1954).  Dennis graduated from Kelloggsville High School in Kelloggsville, Michigan and is a graduate of Grand Rapids Junior College.  Dennis is employed in the Maintenance Department of the City of Wyoming, Michigan.  Dennis and Linda Pitchellis have two sons:  -  Benjamin Matthew Pitchellis, b. March 28, 1981,  -  Derik Carl Pitchellis, b. November 15, 1983.

Salli Hyde graduated from Kentwood High School in Kentwood, Michigan and attended Central State College and attends Cedarville Baptist College in Ohio.  On December 11, 1982, Salli Hyde married Donald Rawlins.  Donald and Salli Rawlings have one son:  -  Matthew William Rawlins, b. May 15, 1988.  On August 22, 1981, Thomas Hyde married Lisa Cheers.  Thomas and Lisa are both graduates of Kentwood High School in Kentwood, Michigan.  Thomas is employed in the Chair Upholstery Division of Steelcase in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

ROSA BELLE THEDE (3.3) is the daughter of Emanuel A. Thede and Mary C. (Aubil) Thede.  Rose was born on August 27, 1901 in Caledonia, Michigan.  Rose Thede graduated from Middleville High School in Middleville, Michigan.  Rose also received degree from Western State Normal College in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Rose taught at the Newhall B. School in Grand Rapids, Michigan for many years.  On June 13, 1925, Rose Thede married Albert Wiggins.  Albert was born in the Leighton Township of Allegan County, Michigan.  Albert was a graduate of Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan and was employed in the Traffic Division of the Doehler-Jarvis Corporation in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Albert and Rose Wiggins were the parents of one son:

   Richard Eugene Wiggins (3.3.1), b. May 21, 1931, Michigan

Albert Wiggins died on September 24, 1965.  On September 7, 1968, Rose married a second time to Russell Bowers.  Russell Bowers died on October 25, 1972.  Rose (Thede) Bowers died on May 23, 1985 and was buried in the Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

RICHARD EUGENE WIGGINS (3.3.1) is the son of Albert Wiggins and Rose (Thede) Wiggins.  Richard was born on May 21, 1931 in Michigan.  Richard Wiggins graduated from South High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He also graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Michigan with a major of Architectural Engineering.  Richard was employed by the Kingscolt Architectural Engineering Company of Kalamazoo, Michigan and is now employed by the Daverman Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  On January 31, 1953, Richard Wiggins married Betty Jean Bettes and they are the parents of five children:

   Beth Ann Wiggins, b. June 26, 1959
   Thomas Paul Wiggins, b. November 8, 1961

Sue Ellen Wiggins graduated from Central College in Pella, Ohio and teaches school.  On August 17, 1974, Sue Ellen Wiggins married William Peake.  William also graduated from Central College and graduated from Seminary.  William is a minister of the Reformed Church in Eddyville, Iowa.  William and Sue have one son:  -  Matthew William Peake, b. June 5, 1981.

Danny Wiggins graduated from Junior College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is now studying at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Beth Ann Wiggins studied at the Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music.  She is now studying occupational therapy at Junior College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Thomas Wiggins is attending Junior College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

BERNICE R. THEDE (3.4) is the daughter of Emanuel A. Thede and Mary C. (Aubil) Thede.  Bernice was born on July 6, 1903 in Michigan.  Bernice graduated from Wayland High School in Wayland, Michigan.  Bernice became a Registered Nurse following her studies at the Butterworth School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, Michigan and at the University Hospital at Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Bernice joined the United States Army as a nurse at the rank of lieutenant.  She was stationed at an United States Army Air Base in New Mexico.  On May 9, 1945, Bernice Thede married Lieutenant Harwood Heggen.  Harwood served in the Pacific Ocean and was discharged in March of 1946.  Harwood is employed with an air conditioning company and they reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Harwood and Bernice Heggen have one adopted son:

On June 29, 1973, Robert Heggen married Sue Rasmussen and they have two children:  -  Timothy Heggen, b. January 25, 1978,  -  Phillip Heggen, b. 1981.

ORPHA THEDE (3.5) is the daughter of Emanuel A. Thede and Mary C. (Aubil) Thede.  Orpha “Peggy” was born on September 12, 1910 in Michigan.  Orpha graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  After completing a Cosmetology course, she operated a beauty parlor in Battle Creek, Michigan.  On May 23, 1931, Orpha Thede married LaVern “Vern” Morris.  Vern and Orpha Morris were the parents of one son:

   David Lee Morris, b. January 7, 1942

Vern Morris contracted and built new homes.  Vern and Orpha Morris lived in Battle Creek, Michigan.  Orpha (Thede) Morris died of breast cancer on December 3, 1966 and Vern Morris died in September of 1981.  David Morris died in a hunting accident on July 14, 1966.

MELVIN FLOYD THEDE (4) is the son of Emanuel A. Thede and Mary C. (Aubil) Thede.  Melvin was born on July 28, 1893 in Allegan County, Michigan.  Melvin attended McLaughlin Business College.  On August 8, 1918, Melvin Thede married Olga Charlotte Peterson.  Olga was born on August 11, 1891 in Omaha, Nebraska and is the daughter of Aaron Peterson and Hilma (Johnson) Peterson.  Melvin and Olga Thede were the parents of two children:

   Howard Arthur Thede (4.1) , b. April 28, 1920, Allegan County, Michigan
   Kenneth Alfred Thede (5), b. May 26, 1922, Wayland, Michigan

Melvin and Olga Thede operated a poultry farm near Wayland, Michigan.  Melvin suffered from asthma most of his life.  Melvin Thede died on June 16, 1966 in Wayland, Michigan.  Olga (Peterson) Thede died on June 15, 1990 in Wayland, Michigan and was buried there in Elmwood Cemetery.

HOWARD ARTHUR THEDE (4.1) is the son of Melvin Thede and Olga (Peterson) Thede.  Howard was born on April 28, 1920 in Allegan County, Michigan.  Howard is a graduate of Wayland High School and Kendall Art School of Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  From 1944 to 1945, Howard did drafting for the Navy at the Institute of Technology at Pasadena, California.  Howard was a representative of Furniture Fabric and Accessories.  On August 10, 1951, Howard Thede married Etta Marie Furtney (born September 8, 1928, Grand Rapids, Michigan).  Etta was a graduate nurse of St. Mary’s Hospital, Grand Rapids.  Howard and Etta Thede are the parents of three children:

MICHAEL DENNIS THEDE (4.1.1) is the son of Howard Thede and Etta (Furtney) Thede.  Michael was born on July 11, 1952 in Pontiac, Michigan.  Michael is a graduate of Michigan Tech.  On December 22, 1972, Michael married Debra Elizabeth Farmer (born December 7, 1952 in Muskegon, Michigan).  Mike and Debbie Thede are the parents of one daughter:

   Abigail Elizabeth Thede, b. March 31, 1979, Columbus, Ohiol

Mike and Debbie Thede were later divorced.  As of 1978, Mike lived in Columbus, Ohio where he was a plant project engineer for Scotts.  On July 5, 1986, Mike Thede married a second time to Melissa Chase (born November 14, 1958 in Biddeford, Maine).  Mike and Melissa Thede have two sons:

SHARON KAY THEDE (4.1.2) is the daughter of Howard Thede and Etta (Furtney) Thede.  Sharon was born on January 19, 1954 in Grand Haven, Michigan.  Sharon is a graduate of Ferris State College in Big Rapids, Michigan.  On January 15, 1977, Sharon married Thomas Edward Campbell (born December 6, 1953 in Grand Rapids, Michigan).  Tom and Sharon Campbell are the parents of three children:

CHRISTINE ANN THEDE (4.1.3) is the daughter of Howard Thede and Etta (Furtney) Thede.  Christine was born on November 19, 1955 in Grand Haven, Michigan.  Chris attended Grand Valley State College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Muskegon Community College in Muskegon, Michigan.  On October 13, 1976, Chris Thede married James Harold Boeve (born July 9, 1953 in Grand Haven, Michigan).  Jim and Chris Boeve are the parents of one son:

As of 1978, Jim and Chris Boeve lived in Grand Haven, Michigan.  Chris is a receptionist for the Muskegon Police Department in Muskegon, Michigan.  As of 1986, James and Chris Boeve were living in Spring Lake, Michigan.

KENNETH ALFRED THEDE (5) is the son of Melvin Thede.  Kenneth was born on May 26, 1922 in Wayland, Michigan.  Kenneth graduated from Wayland High School.  From 1938, to 1945, Ken had a poultry business on the family farm.  In November of 1945, Ken entered the service of the United States Army and was discharged in November of 1946.  In 1950, Ken graduated in pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin.  On June 2, 1956, Ken Thede married Eleanor June Santelman in Battle Creek, Michigan.  Eleanor was born on November 17, 1932 in Battle Creek, Michigan and is the daughter of Fredrick Santelman.  Kenneth and Eleanor Thede are the parents of one daughter:

   Diane Marie Thede (6) , b. August 7, 1957, Battle Creek, Michigan

Ken Thede first worked as a pharmacist in Texas for about one year and in Michigan for over forty-two years.  Ken was the pharmacy director at Lakeview General Osteopathic Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan.  Ken retired in 1992 as a pharmacist with the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Battle Creek.  As of 2003, Ken and Eleanor Thede reside in Battle Creek, Michigan.  Ken and Eleanor enjoy bicycling, traveling and the outdoors.

DIANE MARIE THEDE (6) is the daughter of Kenneth Alfred Thede and Eleanor June (Santelman) Thede.  Diane was born on August 7, 1957 in Battle Creek, Michigan.  In June of 1975, Diane graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and then attended Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan.  While Diane was attending school, she also worked part time for three and one-half years as a pharmacy technician at Lakeview General Osteopathic Hospital.  In 1977, Diane transferred to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas where Diane received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing in 1980.  At Texas Christian University, Diane was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and Angel Flight, an honorary service organization affiliated with Air Force R. O. T. C.  In 1979, Diane was selected “Little Major” and represented her university at a national competition.  At Texas Christian University, Diane was also a member of Alpha Phi Sorority.  After graduation from Texas Christian University, Diane worked in the Marketing Department of Classic Chemical in Grand Prairie, Texas and then at the Baxter Agency in Fort Worth as the Director of Account Services.  From 1983 to 1987, Diane was an Account Executive for the Anderson Fischel advertising agency in Dallas, Texas.  On March 2, 1985, Diane Thede married Robert Brooks Casey at his home in Dallas, Texas.  Diane currently is a homemaker raising their two sons.  Robert and Diane Casey are the parents of two sons:

   Bryan William Casey, b. May 26, 1989, Dallas, Texas

Robert was born on May 25, 1951 in Guthrie, Oklahoma and is the son of Alvin Harold Casey and Ethel Bernice (Brooks) Casey.  Robert was previously married to Debra Lee Mashburn (married May 22, 1971 and divorced on May 26, 1977).  In May of 1969, Robert graduated from Stillwater High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  In May of 1973, Robert received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.  In June of 1974, Robert received a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.  Robert then moved to Austin, Texas where he was employed by International Business Machines.  From July of 1974 to October of 1981, Robert was involved in the design and development of word processing systems at I. B. M.  In October of 1981, Robert transferred to marketing with I. B. M. and has held various marketing  and service positions since that time.  In October of 1981, Robert moved to Carrollton, Texas and then to Dallas, Texas in June of 1984 where he was supporting the marketing of I. B. M. data processing systems.  In October of 1989, Robert and Diane Casey moved to Austin, Texas.  As of 1999, Robert is approaching his 25th anniversary with I.B.M. and currently works for I. B. M. Globals Services as a Project Manager in Austin. Texas.

Robert has coached youth soccer for several years for both of his sons.  Robert has also been an active leader in the genealogy community in Austin.  Robert and Diane have also been active in Cub Scouts, serving as den leaders.  As of 1999, Diane is currently the Den Leaders Coach for their school’s Cub Scout Pack 59.  Diane has also taught Vacation Bible School for several years at Riverbend Church in Austin and is active in their son’s school activities.  Robert is an active genealogist and has published four family histories.  Robert and his father, Harold Casey, published the 200 page book, “Casey Family History” in 1980, Robert and his mother, Bernice (Brooks) Casey, published the 400 page book, “Brooks Family History” in 1982, Robert and his father, Harold Casey, published the 864 page book, “Shelton, Wininger and Pace Families” in 1988 and Robert and his mother, Bernice (Brooks) Casey, published the 408 page book, “Olliff Family History,” in 1992.
