NOAH SHELTON (1.7) is the son of John Shelton and Catherine (Messer) Shelton.  Noah was born on January 28, 1815 in Virginia.  On June 7, 1838, Noah Shelton married Rebecca Mitchell in Jackson County, Alabama.  According to Mary (Shelton) Venable, Rebeccas middle name was Jane, however, the Family Bible shows that her middle initial was G.  Rebecca was born in 1817 in Tennessee and is the daughter of Hugh Mitchell and Sally (Holland) Mitchell.  Rebecca’s sister, Sally Mitchell, married Noah’s brother, Nathaniel Shelton (2).  Noah and Rebecca Shelton were the parents of at least eight children:

From 1870 to 1880, Noah and Catherine Shelton were living in Jackson County, Alabama.  Noah Shelton died on May 24, 1886 and was buried in the Shelton Cemetery in Jackson County, Alabama.  Catherine (Pace) Shelton died on September 9, 1890 and was also buried in the Shelton Cemetery.  Thomas J. Shelton died single on March 7, 1887.  Rebecca E. Shelton died single on April 17, 1875.  Daniel Shelton died on January 31, 1887 and was buried in the Shelton Cemetery.

MARY SHELTON (1.7.1) is the daughter of Noah Shelton and Rebecca (Mitchell) Shelton.  Mary was born on July 25, 1839 in Jackson County, Alabama.  On November 1, 1860, Mary Shelton married William J. Venable (born February 9, 1839).  William and Mary Venable were the parents of at least two children:

JOHN MARTIN SHELTON (1.7.2) is the son of Noah Shelton and Rebecca (Mitchell) Shelton.  John was born on February 25, 1842 in Jackson County, Alabama.  On September 30, 1869, John Martin Shelton married Mary Lucinda Davis in Clarksville, Arkansas.  Lucinda was born on January 6, 1844 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee and is the daughter of Timothy Davis and Lucinda (Horn) Davis.  John and Lucinda Shelton were the parents of four children:

On December 12, 1897, Rebecca Shelton married Presley Wesley Wright in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  Presley was born on November 22, 1877 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and is the son of James Buchanan Wright and Nancy Tennessee (Horn) Wright.  Presley was a minister in the Assembly of God Church.  Presley and Rebecca Wright were the parents of four children:  -  Rufus Bazel Wright, b. July 7, 1902, Ellsworth, Arkansas,  -  Serena Othella Wright, b. September 21, 1904, Ellsworth, Arkansas,  -  Marion Haskel Wright, b. October 4, 1909, Ellsworth, Arkansas,  -  Martin Luther Wright, b. September 13, 1919, Ellsworth, Arkansas.  Rebecca (Shelton) Wright died on December 4, 1957 in Paris, Arkansas and Presley Wright died on April 16, 1961 in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  Both were buried in the Ellsworth Cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas.  Rufus Wright married Ruby Scrudder.  Serena Wright married Roy Kelcey Wright.  Marion Wright married Willie Humphrey.  Martin Wright first married Violet Copeland and later married a woman whose first name was Eleanor.

NOAH DAVIS SHELTON (1.7.2.1) is the son of John Martin Shelton and Mary Lucinda (Davis) Shelton.  Noah was born on August 13, 1871 in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  On September 30, 1894, Noah Shelton married Maggie Eloweese Moss (born 1875) in Logan County, Arkansas.  Noah and Maggie Shelton had no children.  Maggie (Moss) Shelton died on March 30, 1896 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and was buried in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  On August 30, 1896, Noah Shelton married a second time to Mary Magdalene Wiggins.  Mary was born on April 23, 1877 and is the daughter of Ransom Wiggins.  Noah and Mary Shelton were the parents of three children:

On October 23, 1927, Nesby Shelton married Mary Beatrice Selph in Subiaco, Arkansas.  Mary was born on December 12, 1907 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and is the daughter of Eugene Selph and Linnie (McDaniel) Selph.  Nesby and Mary Shelton were the parents of one son:  -  John Wesley Shelton, b. November 17, 1942, Ellsworth, Arkansas.  Nesby Shelton died on May 31, 1986 in Prairie View, Arkansas and was buried in the Ellsworth Cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas.  On March 14, 1964, John Wesley Shelton married Donna Sue Weaver in Delaware, Arkansas.  Donna was born on April 6, 1945 in Paris, Arkansas and is the daughter of Betty Louise Weaver.  John and Donna Shelton have four children:  -  Larry Wayne Shelton, b. JOHN WILLIAM SHELTON (1.7.2.2) is the son of John Martin Shelton and Mary Lucinda (Davis) Shelton.  John was born on November 4, 1873 in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  On July 9, 1893, John Shelton married Ida Idora Council in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  Ida was born on April 4, 1873 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and is the daughter of James Hodges Council and Sarah Elizabeth (Rogers) Council.  John and Ida Shelton were the parents of five children:

John William Shelton died on November 24, 1906 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and was buried there in the Ellsworth Cemetery.  On June 30, 1907, Ida married a second time to Dr. Horace Greeley Rollans.  Ida (Council) Rollans died on March 2, 1958 in Russellville, Arkansas and was buried in the Ellsworth Cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas.  Bonnie Shelton died as a child on May 24, 1896 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and was buried there in the Ellsworth Cemetery.  Gather Shelton died as an infant on May 11, 1901 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and was buried in the Ellsworth Cemetery.  On April 1, 1922, Virgil Shelton married Gurtha Marie Denton but they were divorced on September 2, 1924.  On March 6, 1925, Virgil Shelton married a second time to Fannie Rose Burnham.  Carl M. Shelton died as an infant on May 12, 1907 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and was buried in the Ellsworth Cemetery.

CECIL FAY SHELTON (1.7.2.2.2) is the son of John William Shelton and Ida Idora (Council) Shelton.  Cecil was born on October 21, 1896 in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  On May 21, 1916, Cecil Shelton married Dixie Ina Tucker in Yell County, Arkansas.  Dixie was born on February 27, 1898 in Harkeys Valley, Arkansas and is the daughter of Charles Clayton Tucker and Mary Josephine (Boggins) Tucker.  Cecil and Dixie Shelton were the parents of four children:

Cecil Fay Shelton, Sr. died on September 26, 1925 in Paris, Arkansas and was buried in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  Dixie (Tucker) Shelton died on June 2, 1988.  On October 9, 1948, Narine Shelton married Thomas Clarion Wingfield in Paris, Arkansas.  Thomas was born on June 20, 1915 in Magazine, Arkansas and is the son of Thomas Jefferson Wingfield and Martha Celestia Elvira (Vaughan) Wingfield.  Thomas was a High School Band Director, Violin Teacher and Bookkeeper.  Narine was an Assistant Postmaster.  Thomas and Narine Wingfield have two children:  -  Ronald Thomas Wingfield, b. July 2, 1949, Paris, Arkansas,  -  Vaughan Shelton Wingfield, b. May 3, 1953, Paris, Arkansas.  On June 30, 1974, Ronald Wingfield married Linda Sue Smith in Wynne, Arkansas but they were divorced on February 26, 1980 having no children.  On August 19, 1972, Vaughan Wingfield married Nancy Joan Scales but they were divorced on June 11, 1980 having no children.  Vernon Shelton is single.  William Clayton Shelton married Theora May Jones.  William Clayton Shelton died on April 26, 1972 in Castle Rock, Washington and was buried in Longview, Washington.

On February 14, 1950, Cecil Shelton, Jr. married Magdalena Marques Puig in Caracus, Venezuela (civil ceremony).  Four days later, they were married in a Catholic Church (church ceremony).  Magdalena was born on February 10, 1920 in Caracus, Venezuela and is the daughter of Jose Canals Puig and Juana Torres (Marques) Puig.  Cecil was a seismograph engineer, computer analyst and public relations specialist and Magdalena was an industrial investments and relations specialist.  Cecil and Magdalena Shelton were the parents of two sons:  -  Carlos Eduardo Shelton, b. March 16, 1951, Caracus, Venezuela,  -  Roberto Emilio Shelton, b. December 18, 1954, Caracus, Venezuela.  Cecil Shelton, Jr. was killed by a run-away truck heavily laden with logs that hit his car while stopped at a stop sign.  Cecil died on November 4, 1975 in Saint George, South Carolina and was buried in Washington, District of Columbia.  On April 28, 1979, Carlos Shelton married Susan Elizabeth Smith in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.  Carlos and Susan were divorced on December 27, 1985.  Carlos is an electronics engineer.  Roberto Shelton died on February 21, 1973 in Georgetown, Maryland and was buried in Washington, District of Columbia.

CORDELIA JANE SHELTON (1.7.2.3) is the daughter of John Martin Shelton and Mary Lucinda (Davis) Shelton.  Cordelia was born on August 24, 1876 in Ellsworth, Arkansas.  On November 10, 1895, Cordelia Shelton married Charles Allen Lasater in Paris, Arkansas.  Charles was born on September 12, 1868 in Johnson County, Arkansas.  Charles and Cordelia Lasater were the parents of three children:

  Elja Elgie O. Lasater, b. February 7, 1898, Logan County, Arkansas
  Otto Nesba Lasater, b. August 15, 1899, Ellsworth, Arkansas
  Emma Sedalia Lasater, b. May 10, 1904, Ellsworth, Arkansas

Charles Lasater was a minister in the Assembly of God Church.  Charles Allen Lasater died on July 25, 1933 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and was buried there in the Ellsworth Cemetery.  Cordelia (Shelton) Lasater died on April 22, 1953 in Prairie View, Arkansas and was buried in the Ellsworth Cemetery.  Elgie Lasater died in early childhood.

On August 4, 1918, Otto Lasater married Ruth Scrudder in Logan County, Arkansas.  Ruth was born on May 12, 1901 in Ellsworth, Arkansas and is the daughter of William Thomas Scrudder and Emma (Durning) Scrudder.  Otto and Ruth Lasater were the parents of one daughter:  -  Erma Faye Lasater, b. October 21, 1920, Ellsworth, Arkansas.  Otto was a Civil Servant.  Otto Lasater died on October 21, 1967 and was buried in the Ellsworth Cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas.  On April 12, 1944, Erma Lasater married Harold LeRoy Larry Gray in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Larry was born on February 20, 1918 in Prairie View, Arkansas and is the son of Charles Roy Gray and Lena M. (Fox) Gray.  Larry is a Refinery Foreman.  Larry and Erma Gray lived in Arkansas, California and Mississippi and they have one son:  -  Gary Michael Gray, b. January 4, 1956, Fairfield, California.

On September 20, 1924, Emma Lasater married Francis Ceburn Frank Hamilton.  Frank was born on June 2, 1903.  Frank Hamilton died on July 22, 1943.  Emma (Lasater) Hamilton died on November 10, 1970 and was buried in the Ellsworth Cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas.

NANCY JANE SHELTON (1.7.3) is the daughter of Noah Shelton and Rebecca (Mitchell) Shelton.  Nancy Jane was born on November 21, 1843 in Jackson County, Alabama.  On June 20, 1867, Nancy Jane Shelton married William C. Manning.  William was born in August of 1822 in Tennessee and is the son of George W. Manning and Elizabeth Manning.  William was previously married to Matilda Berry (born 1833 in Alabama).  From 1850 to 1860, William and his first wife, Matilda, were living in Jackson County, Alabama.  William and Matilda Manning had at least six children:  Susanna J. Manning (born 1851), William George W. Manning (born 1853), James C. Manning (born 1856), John H. Manning (born 1859), Sarah E. Manning (born 1861) and Samuel H. Manning (born December 8, 1863).  Matilda (Berry) Manning died on March 10, 1867 and was buried in the Blue Spring Cemetery in Jackson County, Alabama.  From 1870 to 1900, William and Nancy Manning were living in Jackson County, Alabama.  William and Nancy Manning were the parents of at least eight children:
