EDWARD PACE (14.7) is the son of William and Mary Pace.  Edward was born on September 24, 1790 in Virginia.  “Pace, One of America’s Earliest Families” states that Edward Pace first married to Elizabeth Potter (born 1788, Virginia).  This conflicts with the article found in the D. A. R. Application of Sue (Pace) Hicks which states that Edward Pace first married Rebecca Wineinger and then Susannah Foster.  In 1814, Edward Pace was listed in the Washington County, Virginia Personal Property Tax Lists.  From 1815 to 1828, Edward Pace was listed in the Scott County, Virginia Personal Property Tax Lists.  Edward Pace was also enumerated in 1820 census of Scott County, Virginia.  According to the book “Pace, One of the Earliest Families,” Edward Pace and his wife (Elizabeth Potter) were the parents of four children:

On October 14, 1820, Edward Pace married a second time to Susannah Foster in Hawkins County, Tennessee.  Susannah was born on September 14, 1804 in Virginia.  Edward and Susannah Pace were the parents of thirteen children:

In 1850, Edward and Susannah Pace were living in Dubois County, Indiana.  According to the book “Pace, One of the Earliest Families,”  Susannah (Foster) Pace died on December 9, 1863 and Edward Pace died on September 28, 1874.  Both died in Clarinda, Iowa and were buried there in the Memory Cemetery.  In 1870, Daniel Pace and his wife, Martha Pace (born 1821), were living in Taylor County, Iowa.  George Pace died as an infant.  As a child, Rebecca moved to southern Indiana with her parents.  On September 16, 1842, Rebecca Pace married David Hankins (born December 15, 1822).  David and Rebecca Hawkins had six children.  David Hankins served in the Confederate Army.  About 1890, they moved to Colorado and lived near Loveland, Colorado.  David Hankins died on August 17, 1898 in Loveland, Colorado and Rebecca (Pace) Hankins died on December 8, 1905 in Loveland, Colorado.  Both were buried in Loveland, Colorado.  Joseph A. Pace died in infancy.  Susannah Pace married Nathan Helmick.  Elizabeth Pace married Simon Alkire.  Elizabeth (Pace) Alkire died on February 28, 1928 and was buried in Ault, Colorado.

CYNTHIA PACE (14.7.2) is the daughter of Edward Pace and Rebecca (Winegar) Pace.  Cynthia was born in 1814 in Washington County, Virginia.  According to “Pace, One of America’s Earliest Families,” Cythnia Pace married James Bellomy.  According to “The Winegar Tree,” Cynthia Pace married Lewis Wineinger (30.12.11) on January 13, 1831 in Scott County, Virginia.  Lewis was born in 1809 in Hawkins County, Tennessee and is the son of John Alexander Wineinger and Catherine (Huffman) Wineinger.  Lewis’ brother, George Washington Wineinger, married Edward Pace’s sister, Margery Pace.  Lewis and Cynthia Wineinger were the parents of at least thirteen children:

In 1850, Lewis and Cynthia Wineinger were living in Linn County, Missouri.  Lewis Wineinger died in 1859 in Linn County, Missouri and Cynthia (Pace) Wineinger died on March 28, 1887 in Linn County, Missouri.  On February 8, 1855, Samuel Wineinger first married Nancy Jane Sevier.  On March 3, 1859, Samuel Wineinger married a second time to Susan M. Batterton in Linn County, Missouri.  Samuel Wineinger was buried near Phoenix, Arizona.  Rebecca Wineinger married Jacob Roenach and they lived in Bevier, Missouri.  Alexander Wineinger died young.  Susanna Wineinger married Franklin Turner and was buried in Hale, Missouri.

Mary Wineinger married a Mr. Randall and they had at least one son:  -  Edward Randall who was raised by his grandmother, Cynthia (Pace) Wineinger.  Edward Wineinger served as a private in Company A, Eighteenth Regiment, Missouri Volunteers and died from wounds received during the war.  On September 27, 1868, William Wineinger married Sarah C. Shipley and they had three children.  William Wineinger died on March 2, 1887 in Linneus, Missouri and was buried in the Ogan Cemetery in Meadville, Missouri.  Charles Wineinger never married and lived in Brunswick, Missouri.  Catherine Wineinger could be the same person as Louisa of Mellissa.  She married Benjamin Haws and had at least one daughter:  -  Cynthia Haws.

MERLINDA WINEINGER (14.7.2.1) is the daughter of Lewis Wineinger and Cynthia (Pace) Wineinger.  Merlinda was born on April 29, 1833 in French Lick Creek, Indiana.  On December 21, 1854, Merlinda Wineinger married William Jasper Brookshire in Linn County, Missouri.  William was born on October 16, 1832 in Bedford County, Tennessee and is the son of William Thomas Brookshire and Sarah (Hays) Brookshire.  William and Merlinda Brookshire were the parents of at least seven children:

Brookshire.  William Jasper Brookshire died on November 2, 1916 in Sullivan County, Missouri.  Sarah Ellen Brookshire married Edward Garrett and died on November 16, 1945.  Susan Brookshire died on August 9, 1868 at the age of ten years, five months and six days.

WILLIAM THOMAS BROOKSHIRE (14.7.2.1.1) is the son of William Jasper Brookshire and Merlinda (Wineinger) Brookshire.  William was born on April 29, 1857 in Browning, Missouri.  On July 25, 1876, William Thomas Brookshire married Eliza Ellen Williams.  Eliza is the daughter of Daniel Williams and Polly (Jesse) Williams.  William and Eliza Brookshire were the parents of eight children:

William Thomas Brookshire died on January 11, 1937 in Sullivan County, Missouri.  Elpha Brookshire married H. Brightnor and they had five children:  -  Versa Brightnor who married a Mr. Cassas,  -  Vernon Brightnor,  -  Visie Brightnor who married a Mr. Alexander,  -  Verl Brightnor,  -  Velda Brightnor who married a Mr. Wahl.

On September 30, 1903, Ota Brookshire married Camilla Paris Simmons in Mulhall, Oklahoma.  Camilla was born on August 5, 1881 in Fort Worth, Texas and is the daughter of Joseph Alexander Simmons and Martha (East) Simmons.  Ota and Camilla Brookshire had five children:  -  Clifton Warren Brookshire, b. October 5, 1904,  -  Cletta Juanita Brookshire, b. July 8, 1906,  -  Joseph Logan Brookshire, b. June 1, 1909,  -  Genevieve Brookshire, b. December 2, 1910,  -  Gilbert Thornton Brookshire, b. October 21, 1913.  Camilla (Simmons) Brookshire died on March 27, 1956 in Salida, Colorado and Ota Brookshire died on September 10, 1960 in Salido, Colorado.  Both were buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Chaffee County, Colorado.

On September 16, 1928, Clifton Brookshire married Esther Virginia Fullenwider in Salida, Colorado.  Esther was born on July 24, 1903 in Monte Vista, Colorado and is the daughter of John Grant Fullenwider and Virginia Dare (Gunter) Fullenwider.  Clifton and Virginia Brookshire had one daughter:  -  Glenna Mae Brookshire, b. July 4, 1930, Salido, Colorado.  Clifton worked all his life for the D & R G W Railroad, first in Salida, Colorado, then at Tennessee Pass, Colorado, Grand Junction, Colorado and finally at Minturn, Colorado.  Clifton Brookshire died of a heart attack while on a hunting trip in Eagle County, Colorado.  Virginia lived with her daughter, Glenna, until her death on July 16, 1967 while visiting her sisters, Mable and Martha, at Romeo, Colorado.  On June 8, 1950, Glenna Brookshire married Joseph Vincent Beck in Boulder, Colorado.  Both attended the University of Colorado.  Joseph Beck is a Engineer for the United States Forest Service.  Joseph and Glenna Beck have three children:  -  Jeannie Sharon Beck, b. May 26, 1951, Salida, Colorado,  -  Clifton Douglas Beck, b. June 26, 1953, Billings, Montana,  -  Sharon Kay Beck, b. January 26, 1955, Denver, Colorado.

On April 8, 1928, Cletta Brookshire married Willard Sidebotham in Crescent, Oklahoma.  Willard was the son of Thomas Sidebotham and Kate Sidebotham, both originally from England.  Joseph Brookshire married Dawn Callicott and they have two sons:  -  Jack Brookshire, b. 1930,  -  Robert Daniel Brookshire, b. 1936.  Jack Brookshire is a Doctor of Dentistry in Leadville, Colorado and has three children.  Robert “Bobbie” Brookshire graduated with an Education degree, resides in North Dakota and has three children.  Genevieve Brookshire married James Saffores and lives in California.  Gilbert Brookshire died as an infant on March 21, 1914 in Crescent, Oklahoma.

Elmer Brookshire married May Curtis and they had one son:  -  Cecil Brookshire.  Elmer Brookshire died on January 24, 1943.  Cora Brookshire married J. Veech and they have one daughter:  -  Joy Veech.  John Eason Brookshire married E. Johnson.  John Brookshire died on January 10, 1950.  James Brookshire first married B. Moffitt and later married a second time to Orine Appleby.  Cleo Brookshire married L. Brannum and they have one son:  -  Jack Brannum.

JAMES NEWTON BROOKSHIRE (14.7.2.1.4) is the son of William Jasper Brookshire and Merlinda (Wineinger) Brookshire.  James was born on October 10, 1862.  James Newton Brookshire married Mettie Elizabeth Dodson (born July 29, 1867).  James and Mettie Brookshire had seven children:

RICHARD FOSTER PACE (14.7.5) is the son of Edward Pace and Susannah (Foster) Pace.  Richard was born on August 18, 1821 in Scott County, Virginia.  On July 26, 1842, Richard Pace married Nancy Jane Winegar (born July 26, 1826 in Dubois County, Indiana).  In 1850, Richard and Nancy Pace were living in Dubois County, Indiana.  Richard and Nancy Pace were the parents of at least six children:

MARION ELLIOTT PACE (14.7.5.6) is the son of Richard Foster Pace and Nancy Jane (Winegar) Pace.  Marion was born on March 2, 1865 in New Market, Taylor County, Iowa.  On October 7, 1891, Marion Pace married Viola Sophia Bloomer.  Viola was born on January 9, 1871 at Kansas City, Kansas and is the daughter of Joshua Bloomer and Viola Sophia (Ellis) Bloomer.  Marion and Viola Pace were the parents of at least four children:

VIRGIL ELLIS PACE (14.7.5.6.4) is the son of Marion Elliott Pace and Viola Sophia (Bloomer) Pace.  Virgil was born on January 8, 1901 in Shendandoah, Iowa.  Virgil Pace married Daphna Ann Lucille Fallgatter.  Daphna was born on December 13, 1904 and is the daughter of Victor C. Fallgatter and Mary Ellen (Kean) Fallgatter.  Virgil and Daphna Pace were the parents of two children:

  Infant Son

Daphna (Fallgatter) Pace died in 1933 in Oakland, California.  Virgil Pace married a second time to Izola Marie Kelley.  Virgil Pace died in 1990.

MARY DAWN PACE (14.7.5.6.4.1) is the daughter of Virgil Ellis Pace and Daphna Ann Lucille (Fallgatter) Pace.  Mary Pace married Howard John Brazee, Jr.  Howard was born on August 15, 1925 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and is the son of Howard John Brazee and Amelia Frances (DelMonte) Brazee.  Howard and Mary Brazee were the parents of seven children:

Howard Brazee, Jr. died on May 19, 1989 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  Mary Kathleen Brazee died as a child on November 4, 1950 in Oakland, California.  Howard Brazee, III married Patricia Anne Ward.  Linda Brazee married Daniel Jay Craig.  Daniel is the son of Foster Edward Craig and Margaret Lou (Reis) Craig.  Daniel and Linda Craig have two children:  -  Danielle Marie Craig,  -  Margaret Dawn Craig.

Jonathan Brazee married Sylvia Yee Nor Young.  Jonathan Brazee married a second time to Irina Grigorievna Borisova.  David Brazee married Sonia Cha.  David Brazee married a second time to Jill Janson.  Jill is the daughter of Richard Carl Janson and Betty Mae (Guiguere) Janson.  David and Jill Brazee have one son:  -  Benjamin Adam Brazee.  Loralee Brazee married James Edward Dischner.  James is the son of John Mathew Dischner and Caroline (Cricks) Dischner.  James and Loralee Dischner have two children:  -  Zachary James Dischner,  -  Joshua John Dischner.
