AMOS BURRELL LACKEY (71.3.7.8) is the son of Amos Lackey and Nancy (Wasson) Lackey.  Amos was born on August 2, 1824 in North Carolina.  On December 12, 1843, Amos Lackey married Sarah L. Branch (born 1826 in Tennessee) in Talladega County, Alabama.  Amos and Sarah Lackey were the parents of seventeen children (four infants died in Alabama and Mississippi):

Amos served in the War with Mexico from 1846 to 1847.  He served as private in Captain Cunninghams Company, Company K, Alabama First Volunteer Infantry.  From 1850 to 1860, Amos and Sarah Lackey were living in Talladega County, Alabama.  In 1870, Amos and Sarah Lackey were living in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  Sarah (Branch) Lackey died in the Spring of 1873 in Newton County, Arkansas and was buried there.  On December 18, 1874, Amos Lackey married a second time to Sarah Baughman (born 1855 in Arkansas) in Arkansas.  Amos and Sarah Lackey were the parents of nine children:

In 1880, Amos and Sarah Lackey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  Amos Lackey died July 22, 1896 in Newton County, Arkansas.  Nancy Lackey married a Dr. Nunn.  Robert Lackey died when a small boy.  Elizabeth Lackey married a Dr. Cline.  Keziah Lackey married Martin Villines.  Keziah married a second time to Williamson Roark, a minister.  Milla Lackey died in 1870 in Sparta, Mississippi.  Ardenia Lackey married George McFarland.  Rhoda Lackey married George Tucker.  Rhoda married a second time to a Mr. Wright.  George Lackey married a Miss Butler.

Kilgore.  Jackson was born on January 17, 1861 and is the son of Ruben Shelly Kilgore and Nancy Jane (Roseberry) Kilgore.  Jackson and Sarah Kilgore were the parents of four children:

Jackson Kilgore died on January 14, 1934 and Sarah (Lackey) Kilgore died on October 30, 1937.  Arthur Kilgore married Julia Victoria Spencer.  Julia was born on June 9, 1893 and is the daughter of James Riley Spencer and Mary Ellen (Tindall) Spencer.  Arthur and Julia Kilgore have one son:  -  Herman Glenn Kilgore, b. June 29, 1914.  Julia (Spencer) Kilgore died on May 11, 1981 and Arthur Kilgore died on October 31, 1987.  Herman Kilgore died on December 20, 1989.  Ersie Kilgore married William Alonzo Spencer, brother of Julia Spencer who married Arthur Kilgore.  William and Ersie Spencer had one son:  -  Ford Spencer, b. (Fulmer) Gunter.  Luann Gunter’s sister, Elizabeth Eugenia Gunter, married Stephen Atkisson’s brother, George McGee Aktisson (71.3.7.10.2).  Stephen and Luann Atkisson were the parents of ten children:

Baker in Ashland, Alabama.  Esther (Atkisson) Baker died in Clay County, Alabama was buried in the Hollins Cemetery.  William Atkisson died as a child in 1883.  Amanda Atkisson died as a teenager in 1895.  In 1900, Ruth Atkisson married Wiley Clifton.  Ruth (Atkisson) Clifton died in 1905.  In 1904, Mary Atkisson married William J. Sprayberry in Talladega County, Alabama.  Mary (Atkisson) Sprayberry died on January 15, 1926 in Talladega County, Alabama and was buried in the Seay Chapel Cemetery.

On October 13, 1913, Sarah Atkisson married Andrew J. “Sam” Brooks in Talladega County, Alabama.  Andrew and Sarah Brooks had one daughter:  -  Florence P. Brooks.  Sarah (Atkisson) Brooks died on December 28, 1975 in Ashland, Alabama and was buried in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Florence Brooks married Arthur Patterson.  As of October of 1991, Florence Patterson was living in Lineville, Alabama.  Ida Atkisson married John J. Oglesby.  Ida (Atkisson) Oglesby died on July 10, 1978 in Gadsden, Alabama and was buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery.  George M. Atkisson died on January 2, 1981 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
