JOHN ORTON (1.5.3) is the son of Joseph Orton and Jannet (Bryan) Orton.  Johnzie/Johnza was born around 1785 in Rowan County, North Carolina.  On February 23, 1805, “Johnza” Orton married Rachael Campbell in Rowan County, North Carolina.  Rachael is the daughter of Joseph Campbell and Rebecca Campbell.  In 1820, “John Z. Orten” was living in Orange County, Indiana.  John and Rachel Orton were the parents of three children:

   Bexey Orton (1.5.3.1), b. January 15, 1815, Orange County, Indiana
   Rachel Orton, b. March 25, 1819, Orange County, Indiana
   Caroline Orton, b. 1820, Orange County, Indiana

Rachel (Campbell) Orton died between 1820 (birth of her last child) and 1830 (second marriage of John Orton).  On February 8, 1830, “Johnzey” Orton married a second time to Susannah Farris in Orange County, Indiana.  Susannah Farris could be the widow of Nathan Farris who married Susannah Pinnick on December 11, 1823 in Orange County, Indiana.  In 1830, “Johnzey Ortan” was living in Orange County, Indiana.  On August 5, 1834, “John Zey” Orton purchased eighty acres of federal land in Perry County, Illinois.  In 1840, “Johnzey Orton” was living in Perry County, Illinois.  On February 25, 1841, Johnzey and Susana Orton signed the marriage bond of John A. Heape and Mariah Jane Farris (possible of daughter of Susannah by her first marriage) in Perry County, Illinois.  Johnzie and Susannah Orton were the parents of four children:

   Ninian E. Orton, b. 1832, Orange County, Indiana
   Emeline Orton, b. 1834, Perry County, Illinois
   Minerva Orton, b. 1836, Perry County, Illinois
   Malinda Orton (1.5.3.6), b. May 20, 1839, Perry County, Illinois

Susannah (Farris) Orton died between February 25, 1841 (when she signed a marriage bond) and June 11, 1843 (when Johnzie Orton married his third wife).  On June 11, 1843, Johnzie Orton married a third time to Sarah Jones in Perry County, Illinois.  Sarah (Jones) Orton died between 1843 (when she married Johnzie Orton) and 1850 (as she does not appear in the 1850 census with Johnzey Orton.  In 1850, “Johnzey Orton” was living with several of his children in Perry County, Illinois.  In 1850, the Agricultural Census of Perry County, Illinois lists that “Jonzey” Orton had listed the following assets:  160 acres of improved land, 120 acres of unimproved land, $1,000 cash value of farm, $100 value of farming implements, six horses, eight “milch” cows, two working oxen, thirteen other cattle, thirty sheep, fifty swine, $410 value of livestock, one hundred sixty bushels of wheat, one thousand bushels of Indian corn, one pounds of butter, $20 of home made manufacture.  On November 3, 1853, “Jonzey” Orton married a fourth time to Mrs. Elizabeth Jones in Perry County, Illinois.  Johnzie Orton died on March 8, 1855 in Perry County, Illinois.  On September 11, 1838, Rachel Orton married Samuel McElvain in Perry County, Illinois.  Samuel was born in 1814.  Rachel (Orton) McElvain died on April 9, 1840 and was buried in the Old Haggard Cemetery in Perry County, Illionois.  On January 1, 1849, Caroline Orton married Lewis J. Bridges in Pery County, Illinois.  On May 29, 1872, Ninian Orton married Nancy J. Phillips in Richland County, Illinois.  On February 6, 1853, Emeline Orton married Marion Tefertiller in Perry County, Illinois.

BEXEY ORTON (1.5.3.1) is the daughter of John Orton and Rachael (Campbell) Orton.  Bexey was born January 15, 1815 in Orange County, Indiana.  On January 17, 1833, Bexey Orton married Frederick Williams in Perry County, Illinois.  Frederick was born on March 18, 1808 in Christian County, Kentucky and is the son of William Williams and Martha (Wells) Williams.  From 1850 to 1880, Frederick and Bexey Williams were living in Perry County, Illinois.  Frederick and Bexey Williams were the parents of six children:

Ward died in 1925.  Desdemona Lovelady married Francis Marion Ward, a medical doctor.  Francis was born on May 10, 1856.  Francis Ward died on September 1, 1917 and Desdemona (Lovelady) Ward died on October 3, 1941.  Thomas Lovelady married Sade Ragland (born 1851).  Thomas Lovelady died in 1908.  Oscar Lovelady married Emily Leonia Childers (born 1873).  Oscar Lovelady married a second time to Bettie M. CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS WILLIAMS (1.5.3.1.2) is the son of Frederick Williams and Bexey (Orton) Williams.  Columbus was born on April 3, 1843 in Perry County, Illinois.  Columbus Williams married Mary E. Ferguson (born 1843 in Tennessee).  From 1870 to 1880, Columbus and Mary Williams were living in Perry County, Illinois.  Christopher and Mary Williams were the parents of six children:

DESDAMONA MESANIRE WILLIAMS (1.5.3.1.3) is the daughter of Frederick Williams and Bexey (Orton) Williams.  Desdamona was born on October 18, 1846 in Perry County, Illinois.  On January 1, 1863, Desdamona Williams married John E. Campbell at LaSalle City, Illinois.  John was born on September 15, 1836 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and is the son of Benjamin Campbell and Margaretha (Wilson) Campbell.  Until the age of twenty-five, John Campbell taught school.  John enlisted in the Union Army, Company K, 61st Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry and served until October, 1862 when he was honorably discharged due to loss of one eye and typhoid fever.  After returning from the war, John became a school teacher and Desdamona was one of his pupils.  John was twenty-seven and Desdamona was seventeen and family tradition tells us that the family was opposed to the match and has been said that she was disowned from the family.  However, Desdamona was later a recipient of property in her father’s will.  John and Desdamona Campbell were the parents of seven children:

John and Desdamona Campbell lived in Genoa, Illinois and later moved to Grenola, Kansas.  In 1880, John and Desdamona Campbell were living in Cowley County, Kansas.  In 1896, they moved to Delta, Colorado.  In 1900, John and Desdamona Campbell were living in Delta County, Colorado.  Later, they moved to Glendale, Arizona.  In 1910, John and Desdamona Campbell were living in Maricopa County, Arizona.  Later, they moved to Ontario, California.  Desdamona (Williams) Campbell died on May 8, 1924 in Upland, California.  John Campbell died on January 3, 1931 in Ontario, California and was buried in the Bellevue Cemetery.  Mabel Campbell was a teacher and never married.  Mabel Campbell died on February 12, 1934 in Novato, California.  Edith L. Campbell married Wallace Sackett and lived in Basin, Wyoming.  Wallace and Edith Sackett had five children:  -  Edward Sackett,  -  Raymond Sackett,  -  Marjorie Sackett,  -  Richard Sackett,  -  Bernice Sackett.  Daisy M. Campbell and Desdamona Mesanire (Williams) Campbell.  Frederick was born on January 18, 1864 in Genoa, Illinois.  Frederick Campbell lived in Collinsville, Illinois.  Frederick Campbell married Amber Drew Moupin.  Frederick Campbell served in World War I.  Frederick and Amber Campbell were the parents of five children:

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN CAMPBELL (1.5.3.1.3.2) is the son of John E. Campbell and Desdamona Mesanire (Williams) Campbell.  Frank was born on July 27, 1867 in Genoa, Illinois.  On December 4, 1893, Frank Campbell married Nannie Belle Jones in Winfield, Kansas.  Nannie is the daughter of William L. Jones and Lou (Logsdon) Jones.  In 1896, Frank and Nan Campbell moved to western Colorado on two covered wagons.  They settled in Delta, Colorado where they filed homestead claims.  The area where they lived is still locally as “Campbell’s Switch.”  Frank and Nan Campbell were the parents of five children:

RUBY GERTRUDE CAMPBELL (1.5.3.1.3.2.2) is the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Campbell and Nannie Belle (Jones) Campbell.  Ruby was born on April 6, 1899 in Delta, Colorado.  On June 24, 1921, Ruby Campbell married Floyd Latham in Montrose, Colorado.  Floyd was born on August 24, 1900 in Osborne, Kansas and is the son of Linnie A. Latham and Emma (Zimmermann) Latham.  Floyd and Ruby Latham were the parents of one daughter:

JOHN FRANK CAMPBELL (1.5.3.1.3.2.3) is the son of Benjamin Franklin Campbell and Nannie Belle (Jones) Campbell.  John was born on June 8, 1904 in Delta, Colorado.  On June 2, 1923, John Campbell married Bessie Marie Taylor in Delta, Colorado.  Bessie was born on June 23, 1903 in Bunker Hill, Indiana and is the daughter of Joseph A. Taylor and Mary Ella (McGuire) Taylor.  John and Bessie Campbell are the parents of four children:

July 27, 1984, Orange, California.  On August 1, 1987, Craig Campbell married Betty Lindquist in Vail, Colorado.

On February 25, 1956, Frank Campbell married Anita Marie Finch in Oppenheim, Germany.  Anita was born on September 4, 1935 in Newton, Kansas and is the daughter of Leonard Thomas Finch and Ethel Charlotte (Adam) Finch.  Frank and Anita Campbell have three children:  -  Scott Edward Campbell, b. PAUL EUGENE CAMPBELL (1.5.3.1.3.2.5) is the son of Benjamin Franklin Campbell and Nannie Belle (Jones) Campbell.  Paul was born on August 1, 1918 in Delta, Colorado.  On September 28, 1940, Paul Campbell married Agnes Lorraine Walker in Delta, Colorado.  Agnes was born on August 4, 1920 in Delta, Colorado and is the daughter of Roney Walker and Agnes Jane (Kehoe) Walker.  Paul and Agnes Campbell had three children:
