ALLEN BROOKS (2.9) is the son of Jordan Brooks (2) and Mary (Cruse) Brooks.  Allen was born in 1802 in Edgefield County, South Carolina.  On December 23, 1824, Allen Brooks married Mariah Bullock in Wilkinson County, Georgia.  Mariah was born in 1810 and is the daughter of Batson Bullock and Comfort (Turner) Bullock.  Batson’s father, Daniel Bullock, was a veteran of the Revolutionary War.  From 1830 to 1840, Allen and Mariah Brooks lived in Talbot County, Georgia.  In 1850, they were living in Marion County, Georgia.  Allen and Mariah Brooks were the parents of fourteen children:

According to “Brooks Family History,” Allen and Mariah Brooks were the parents of six children:  Irvin, Mary, Elizabeth, Charles, William and Francis.  Allen Brooks died in the early part of 1857 in Marion County, Georgia as his son-in-law, Lucius W. Maddox, was made administrator of his estate on April 7, 1857.  In 1860, Mariah (Bullock) Brooks was living with her children in Marion County, Georgia.  In 1870, Mariah (Bullock) Brooks was living with her daughter, Margaret, in Marion County, Georgia.  Mariah (Bullock) Brooks died in 1875. Allen and Mariah Brooks had one granddaughter whose father is not known:  -  Zadie Brooks, b. April 7, 1851, Georgia.  On November 2, 1868, Zadie Brooks married W. D. Stalling (?).  On May 2, 1857, Charles Brooks married Angline T. Cobb.  Robert D. Brooks was a private in Company 1 of the Second Regiment of the Volunteer Infantry of the Confederate Army.  Robert Brooks died on July 1, 1862.  On July 17, 1869, James Brooks married M. E. Finch (?).  James and M. E. Brooks had one son:  -  W. C. Brooks, b. April 16, 1870.

MARY ANN COMFORT BROOKS (2.9.3) is the daughter of Allen Brooks and Mariah (Bullock) Brooks.  Mary was born on December 2, 1825 in Georgia.  On January 2, 1848, Mary Brooks married Lucius W. Maddox (born 1819 in Georgia) and they had at least seven children:

ELIZABETH COTTON BROOKS (2.9.4) is the daughter of Allen Brooks and Mariah (Bullock) Brooks.  Bettie Brooks was born on July 20, 1831 in Georgia.  On November 19, 1848, Bettie Brooks married James M. Merritt in Marion County, Georgia and they moved to Arkansas.  They were the parents of at least two children:

James and Elizabeth’s son was a judge on the Supreme Court Bench of Arkansas.  Mittie Merritt married a Mr. Petty and they had four sons and one daughter who married a Mr. Simmons.  The Simmons lived in Pinebluff, Arkansas.  After the death of Mr. Petty, Mittie married a Mr. King and lived in White Sulphur Springs, Arkansas.

SARAH CAROLINE BROOKS (2.9.6) is the daughter of Allen Brooks and Mariah (Bullock) Brooks.  Sarah was born on September 16, 1834 in Talbot County, Georgia.  On September 18, 1851, Sarah Brooks married Reuben Jasper Bridges.  Reuben was born on May 5, 1829 and is the son of James Bridges.  Reuben and Sarah Bridges were the parents of eight children:

JOSEPH W. BROOKS (2.9.8) is the son of Allen Brooks and Mariah (Bullock) Brooks.  Joseph was born on January 16, 1838 in Talbot County, Georgia.  On January 4, 1860, Joseph Brooks married Elizabeth Nancy Ann Wiggins in Stewart County, Georgia.  Nancy was born on February 18, 1838 in Georgia and is the daughter of Whittington Wiggins and Nancy (Atkinson) Wiggins.  From 1860 to 1900, Joseph and Nancy Brooks lived in Stewart County, Georgia.  Joseph and Nancy Brooks were the parents of at least four children:

CHARLES LAWRENCE CREW (2.9.10.1) is the son of Margaret (Brooks) Crew.  Charles was born in January, 1862 in Georgia.  Charles Crew married Martha Wright Gunnells (born December, 1865 in Georgia).  Charkes and Martha Crew were the parents of eight children:

EVALINE MARIA BROOKS (2.9.11) is the daughter of Allen Brooks and Mariah (Bullock) Brooks.  Evaline was born on March 1, 1844 in Talbot County, Georgia.  On November 9, 1868, Evaline Brooks married Abner Calvin Adkins in Buena Vista, Georgia.  Abner was born on September 6, 1831 in Houston County, Georgia.  Abner served as a private during the Civil War in Company E of the Third Regiment of the Georgia Infantry, enlisting on April 27, 1861.  He was wounded and permanently disabled at the Crater, near Petersburg, Virginia on July 30, 1864.  He was in the Jackson Hospital in Richmond, Virginia and was released on August 28, 1865.  Abner and Evaline Adkins were the parents of seven children:

In 1880, Abner and Evaline Adkins were living in Marion County, Georgia.  Abner Calvin Adkins died in Milledgeville, Georgia on February 15, 1890 and was buried in Buena Vista, Georgia.  In 1900, Evaline (Brooks) Adkins was living in Terrell County, Georgia.  Evaline (Brooks) Adkins died on October 19, 1914 and was buried in Moultrie, Georgia.  Mary Margarite Adkins died as a child on October 15, 1870.  M. S. Adkins died young on March 3, 1874.

C. Ashley (born November 4, 1862 in Robeson County, North Carolina) and they were the parents of two daughters:

Maryed Taylor married Elvin Flowers and they had three children:  -  Elvin Aubry Flowers, Jr., b. February 24, 1947,  -  Cecil Ross Flowers, b. April 23, 1948,  -  Harley Leslie Flowers, b. December 26, 1976, Moultrie, Georgia.  On July 31, 1971, Mary Clements married William Phillip Saunders (born March 27, 1948) and they have three children:  -  Carrie C. Saunders, b. February 16, 1974, Moultrie, Georgia,  -  Elizabeth Drake Saunders, b. August 11, 1979, Moultrie, Georgia,  -  John Duncan Saunders, b. September 26, 1980, Moultrie, Georgia.  On June 13, 1975, Frank Clements married Sharon Flanders and they have one son:  -  Flanders Frank Clements, b. May 19, 1978.
